Tokyo View

I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Tokyo for a business trip. First time abroad, first looooong flight of my life! I loved every minute of it!

My hotel was AMAZING! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I stayed right next to Tokyo station, the entrance was literally 20 steps away! Which made getting around by train very convenient.

They had American breakfast buffet every morning and every seat had great views of the city.

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. The location and service and room were great. Every room comes with its own A/C thermostat, you can adjust to your hearts content.

Once I arrived to my floor, I was greeted by a staff member that helped me with my suitcase and walked me to my door. Amazing service all the way!

Since my first day in, I only had the evening, I went into the Tokyo Station in search for dinner. By the way, the Tokyo Train Station is HUGE! It has everything you would need. From small convenience stores, dessert shops, anime shops, souvenir stores and food, lots of desserts places to choose from. They even have an area called Restaurant Row. And I was able to find a great italian seafood restaurant. Exhausted from the long flight I went back to the hotel after dinner for some rest.

The next day I was ready to venture out and see the city!! I started off with Asakusa.
Being only 20 minutes away by train, and having the whole day free it was a must see place I had researched before going. I took the Tokyo station to the Ueno station and did a quick transfer over to the line that would take me to Asakusa. Taking the Tokyo train is SUPER easy. Trust me!! Not only is everyone that works there super friendly, they will tell you exactly where to go stand for your train, the inside of the train has a great running clip of what station you are at and what the next 8 stations are so you feel safe you are going in the right direction. In Japanese and English language. Having only ridden in the subways in NYC, this was a drastic change. Everything is super clean, organized and quiet.

I arrived super early. It seemed to me that everything in Tokyo started off a little late closer to 9, having arrived at 7 I had time to look around and take pictures.

I was always happy to see these signs!! Food was especially hard to order at times.

A great trip from a fellow traveler was to always take pictures of your subway entrance, that way if you get lost, you can show someone your picture and not have to worry about the language barrier.

The entry ways to the temple were oversized and stunningly beautiful.

Since the shops were not opened so we (tourists) all waiting at the entrance and took picture of the first entryway.

For a few dollars, you bought a small incense stack turned it on and then placed it in this beautiful ornate sand holding little house in the middle of the street.  Make sure to bring cash!

The incense then traveled up and swirled around in the air.

Amazingly this whole area has its own free wifi! So cool!

Since I got there early the stores were still not opened which was nice to get to see how beautifully decorated they were.

Once the shops opened it was hard to walk, thankfully they have a back alley that is alot easier to navigate.

Here is what it looks like from above:

And of course it would not be complete without seeing Japanese women in their lovely traditional kimonos.

I was pretty hungry on my way back to the Ueno train station and I was sooo happy to find American food.

And relaxed with one of these awesome drinks.
